Simple and Efficient Algorithm for Polarization Tracking and Demultiplexing in Dual-polarization IM/DD Systems

Abstract

We propose a simple and efficient DSP algorithm, which enables to demodulate dual-polarization PAM signals in direct-detection receivers. Simulation results show that the power penalty stemming from digital polarization tracking and demultiplexing is negligibly small.
