Abstract
Time-resolved x-ray diffraction has become an effective tool to study bulk structural dynamics of solids.1-4 However most of these experiments were limited to the x-ray absorption depths of a few microns. One can probe even more deeply by using a quasi-forbidden Bragg reflection, but again the depth is limited to less than 10 microns.4 We have extended the effective depth of time-resolved x-ray experiments to the millimeter scale using anomalous transmission of x-rays.
