Bi-directional Transmission to Reduce Linear and Nonlinear Crosstalk

Abstract

Interleaved bi-directional transmission is shown to be a forward-looking system architecture benefiting from reduced nonlinear penalty. Although its performance is limited by Rayleigh scattering it is more suitable for systems designed for high spectral efficiency.
